Just an idea but maybe we have to name some of the "products" we want to get in the wiki page, and then ppl can assign themselves to the "products" so that there is some structure. This is also a good way to prevent that ppl are writing about the same thing parralel ?
Anyways it's just an idea |

One question: do we aim at moving all the helpfiles to the wiki? In other words, are the tutorials from the left menu transfered there also and will that section disappear then? No use having the info in two places... |

Good question. Data at two places also devaluates its value, since differences between two versions will make people doubt which one is the true and correct one.
The advantage of using Wiki-pages for the content is because its easier to keep up to date and expand. The possible problem is that people attach less faith and trust to Wiki-pages. I personally am undecided, although slightly favour wiki due to its community-vibe and the faith I have in the potential of platforms that are constructed by multiple users instead of a strict hierarchy. For the moment, I'd keep the tutorials on the main website.

I've made a little list of guidedlines/pointers:
- Installation/requirements
- How to install the registration files
- setting up soundcards
- setting up midi devices
- quick start
- main configuration window
- Shortcut keys
- Using samples
- Using Midi
- Using VSTI and VST(effects)/sidechaining
- setting up rewire in slave mode with .........
- Pattern editor/track effects
- The automation window
- The Sample editor
- (pre) mastering inside madtracker
- Rendering a song for cd or mastering
- About madtracker (Yannick etc.)
Some of the items are in progression.. Maybe it is a smart idea to post on which of the subjects someone is working on
(maybe i forgot some things, those where the things i could think about anyways) |

A link from wiki to the Tutorials would do the trick so it's central manageable (<- strange word ) and just put additions into the Wiki page .... |

I seriously disagree and agree with Inge, everything is easy to be updated, and there is a so called "community vibe" indeed, but also everyone can add pointers, tips etc.
I think that both would do (wiki and MT mainsite)
the one at Wiki should be ofcourse waaaay more extended, some MTuser in the IRC channel once said "it barrely scratches the surface" and I agree... I didn't understand the programm at first... I got some help from a dude... |

I was wondering, should there also be an explanation of certain things... Like the filters. I mean, what actually does a filter do? Low-pass and high-pass are clear for anyone I guess, but what the heck is bi-notch, for example? Or peak?
(I would do it myself, but I'm not quite sure how...)

Madtracker fx window would be a good addition to the list indeed, maybe in combination with the automation "chapter" .. |
