Posted: Tue Jun 27 2006 09:28 Have a check-a of my nu kickin' avatar! |
 |
I made it myself, took all day screwin' around with GIF animators and various obscure painting tools. I think it looks mighty fine, but then if I'm in the state of mind to be working on a forum avatar all day, my opinion is worthless.
Tell me whatchoo think!
It's pissing me off a bit, because it won't play the same speed in the browser as it does on GIF animator, so...
Don't know why. Maybe someone else does? |

Hahaha! That is terrific mate! Can you also ones for others? I would like one with my name in it, and a vu-meter which almost always is clipping like a mad man, and doing so very rapidly. |

If you want some things changed, request them and I'll try it. It's not 100% complete anyway. I don't know why it's so @#%@#% slow, though.
G3: I made these using MS Paint, GIF Animator, Paint Shop Pro, and Animagic. My own avatar took a long time to complete, because I had to learn the programs as I made it. Inge's only took around two hours, but it's not quite done yet. |

great stuff! Have you thought about cropping the black background? It would leave you with more KB to play with and also tighten the design a little... |

I was interrogating the black background this morning... it doesn't take up too horrible much space, because there's only one frame with the whole background in it. (My animation has 136 frames, and it's only 20 KB ) However, it would probably look cooler if I stuck some nifty design on it, or a scrolling MT background, or something along those lines... I'm presently thinking it over. Suggestions are welcomed |

Thanks a bunch!! With your agreement, I would like to see the mouse pointer removed, the yellow clipping-indicator burning constantly, and the vu-meter only varying in the red area. I like loud music, so to speak, so clipping and red leds are my best friends. |

Really. I know of no hero bigger than you are. Thank you big time!
Oh, one last thing: can you remove the 'man-at-arms' part? My name suffices, especially since this subtitle already is visible above my avatar. |

Heh, nope, just MSPaint and GIF animator, and then animagic and old Paint Shop Pro for fixing up. None of it costs money, but the last two are shareware, so blah blah blah about evaluations and licenses and crap. |

Oh you bastards, now my oldshcool avatar looks like it was made on a silicon graphics system! That's what I get for wanting a C64 reference avatar!
Damnit Jimm you're ruining everything!!
Seriously though, it looks REALLY nice, and if it weren't for the fact that pyrozane already made me the avatar I have now and it's cool in a unique kind of way, I'd be all over you begging for a SoulEye version!
Also, it gives you two a sense of union with both of them in the same style, which makes me a bit envious...
But a long nickname like mine wouldn't fit as good I think... Ofc there's always the short version, like... "Soul" or just simply "Eye". Oh well.
Real nice work. Gotta love those system-ish fonts and the crisp no-nonsense designs... |
