On the 23th of august 2003, Yannick asked me if I wanted to start doing some things for MadTracker.org regarding anything not-coding related. I accepted this offer, and over the last three years, I've been active in user support (e-mail, forum, irc), initiating and supporting community events (compo webcast, interviews, background articles), marketing and promotion (writing press information, developing and producing the marketing concept around MadTracker), as a sound board for Yannick (what is important, what isn't, what should we do and what shouldn't we do), and other small and big things.
Now that MadTracker has reached its current final state in the form of 2.6, my task is somewhat done. There is nothing really important to communicate to the outside world at the moment, so there's little to none significant what I can do. Furthermore, I've almost finished my study and am job hunting as we speak, and I'm moving to Rotterdam at the end of the month. Things are changing, and that means that I started reflecting on what I'm doing at the moment. One of the things I've dropped is my radio program. Another thing will be that I give up all my active responsibilities for MadTracker. Among other things, I will no longer give support via e-mail, initiate events, write articles or moderate the forum.
The reason is twofold. First, there's no real need for me anymore. As long as no dramatic changes occur in MadTracker (such as version 3), there's little important for me to do. This lack of impulses makes maintaining doing other work for MadTracker somewhat uninteresting for me, since I enjoy and need regular fuel to continue working. Furthermore, I've moved from being a composer (between 1993 and 2003) to a listener and critic. This means that my interest currently lies mainly on the area of music journalism, and that my relation with MadTracker as a program is somewhat weakened.
Therefore, I'm signing out as Yannick's right hand man. I've had a great time, especially during the release of MadTracker 2.5 and the compo webcasts. I've learned much about marketing, pr, communication, support, usability and user experience, and creating bridges between producers and consumers. Now it's time to move on for me and learn new things.
I must thank everyone for creating such a nice environment. I've had tons of fun while travelling Scandinavia and meeting up with MT-users, interviewing MT-users, reading and writing on this forum, chatting and e-mailing with people, and seeing a program developing from just a tracker to a versatile and professional music studio. I've told Yannick that he can contact me any time if he needs any help or if new versions should see daylight. My love for writing, music and technology won't fade away.
I'll probably keep visiting this forum, although less often. If you ever spoke to me, read any of my words, or just knew me, than thank you for creating such a nice community. It was and is much appreciated!
All the best for the future,
Inge |

DON'T LEAVE INGE!
We love you man, we can't live out without you.
Too bad you gotta leave, but I can understand perfectly. You've done a lot, and I think this community will be thankful to you forever. There's only one word for this, and it's a dutch word:
Dank je wel.
Perhaps I shall see you some time in Rotterdam.
Ciao, amigo.

Sad to hear your plan on lowered activity here in the forums But real life should always come first. Just hope there will be someone else to fill your shoes, otherwise we'll have to do a Geisha bar attack on your ass untill you agree on coming back
Good luck with everything! |

I´m sorry to hear that!
I havent been very active in this forum even I´m using MT for years.
It´s a pity! I should have joined this forum earlier...
What I´m trying to say is that I kinda missed getting to know you.
I liked your feedback a lot on my tracks and other tracks too and I kinda realized that you are important for this forum and community.
But yeah...Real Life always comes first!
So I wish you all the best...may you achieve whatever you planned.
