I will reply to this off-topic topic... [edit] oh, this entire "general discussion" is dedicated to off-topic stuff... [/edit]
There is ATLEAST one java-wolfenstein-clone for mobile-phones (better than this javascript version, but takes more mem than 5Kb... about 64Kb).
It's called "Stalk N Shoot" and you can download it *FREE* at http://kalo.host.sk/games_r-z.htm , and transfer it to your mobile phones.
It works fine on Nokia 3510i, which is the one i have, but probably also on most/all other java-capable phones.
Btw, check out all the other free games there. Amazing what a cheap 3510i can do - it's a little gameboy!
By the way: does any one know about a demo scene on java-phones? I would like to see some kicking demos on my mobile, but can't really find any demos. |

Btw, if any of you have got a Commodore64 check out MOOD: http://noname.c64.org/mood/ .. A wolfenstein clone for the C64. (emulators suck, but you can take a sneak peak with one anyway - but as all with C64 stuff, it will look/sound worse on a pc than on a real c64)
It's kind a' big pixeled, but if you know how to code on a C64, you'll know that it's pretty cool squeezed into the 64K ram! (when you take the speed (etc) into consideration, and that there has to be memory for all the game-stuff. (demo stuff can and has been made faster/prettier))
The coder is a little lazy tho, so it hasn't been finished yet... |

Well, hard to say if it's off-topic. I mean, like, at least now a hack won't need to be implemented on a whole shipment of phones
And the C64Wolf3D? WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
One thing: Where's frogger? |

Oh, it's soooo terrible. I can't find an emulator for a Nokia 3510i to play new phone games, esp Wolfenstein Clones. But that's not the problem... I'M OUT OF CHOCOLATE!!!!
See? Isn't it just TERRIBLE??!? I can't look for emulators for a Nokia 3510i without my chokky!

The games doesn't JUST work on the 3510i, so you could also search for emulators to other phones. I don't have a clue about if such emus exists...
...Or since it's java, and normal-java works on all (allmost) computers/os'es maybe phone-java does the same.. so maybe there is a way of running the games on a PC (or whatever)?
Maybe you can search for emulators to other phones without chocolate?
If you find any, please let me know! |

Well, there is the "Nokia 3510i MIDP SDK 1.0" which i think can emulate the phone. But it only works on winXP/2000 so i can't run it => i don't know... |
