if anybody has tim deluxe: it just won't do - acapella, PLEASE OH PLEASE let me know!! even if its just the vocals with very minimal stuff in the background (i.e. NONE of those stupid saxophone samples).
yeah i know its old and cheezy house, but i know of a way of uncheezing it into a progressive masterpiece.. (*cough* disclaimer provided inside mt2 file.. )

OH! Umm, umm, ok, well, um, what about somewhere on the KaZaa Lite network? That may hold some answers. Or any kind of network like that.
If however, all you can find is instrumentals (vocal track muted), get that. Have you got the actual original song there? Because if not, and you do come across an instrumental, there is still a way in which you can obtain the acapella.
You know what I'm talking about, right? |

Really? Crap!
It should though. All it requires is those two versions, a sound editor, and precise timing (zoom function in sound editor recomended).
...oh wait, mp3 would affect the chances and quality, right? Damn...
(edit: Yes, I'm not saying what to be a pain in the butt on purpose ) |

Even if you had 2 wav files. The vocal frequencies affect all the other frequencies too.
Than there's the fact they'd probably be mastered differently..
That's why you don't find many a cappella's.
Here's a nice site for them though:

chicago: i know what you mean man, the cancellation method, but i dont have the instrumental OR the original versions because frankly that song fcuking scuks! thats why im planning on a re-mix..
sunbuster: i have created a near-perfect acapella of Prodigy - Firestarter once with the cancellation method (doing it properly the long way- inversing one channel, etc..), and it was only near-perfect because i couldn't be bothered getting the timing spot on. i used the instrumental and the original album version to do it, so i reckon that method works quite well..

Hmm, I tried this with the ghetto supastar single.. couldn't do it with the two wav files I had from the instrumental and the vocal.
Must have done something wrong then.. |
