 |
It's been quite a while since the release of version 2.6.1.
IMHO, MT as a tracker now seems rather neglected (I would have expected at least a few bugfixes, if nothing else), and I suspect that it was Yannick who was the intended target of the open criticism published by the Renoise team a few months ago. (I may be wrong though).
Renoise development is evidentally quite active, and its community is pretty vibrant.
The same can no longer be said for MT
Incidentally, did Atlantis Records master the top three winning entries of the last big compo? Unless I'm mistaken, Atlantis pledged to master the top three winning tracks. I can't seem to find any such mastered versions of those three tracks.

Unfortunately, my life and some events over the past year prevented me from finding the time and energy to work on the development of MadTracker.
I plan to make MadTracker 3 open-source. But for that I need to organize a minimum of things and find some dedicated and competent developers which is not an easy task.
I don't know about that open criticism you mention. But if it's really about me, I'd say: why criticise me?
And about the mastering... unfortunately I never heard back from Atlantis.

No, the Renoise team recently revamped their website (coinciding with the release of v1.8 of Renoise, I think), and the bit of criticism (that may have been directed at Yannick) is not there. I tried to find copies of earlier editions of the website at www.archive.org, but I found nothing for 2007. Someone here must have read it!

as far as i can remember they were only saying that they are not a one-man-only project so they won't die out as many have done so far (FT2, IT, etc, etc) so it's worth to invest in them, blabla. there was nothing againt Yannick or something - especially since Yan has been kicking around for almost 10 years now with MT2! _O_ |

Apparently, the criticism was directed at Steinberg, after discontinued Cubase SX3 support. So that's solved. |
