Hi guys,
I downloade d the latest kxproject drivers for my sblive! 5.1 platinum last week. Ive been going through some basic tests. the problem I was having with the ati tuner software still exists (no audio controls) but I still have sound. I just have to use the ac97 audio controls in the mixer (blech, AC97) but so far everything else seems to function properly, including their new support for directsound. I ended up replacing my ati tuner with a kworld tv/fm tuner to get rid of the ati software problem. I still have yet to test the kx drivers with inputing notes in Madtracker, but when I do, you all will know. |

Please keep us updated. KX drivers are a good alternative for driver-hurted Creative users, so it would be nice if these alternatives could function in a MT environment.

dunno about KX, but the newest APS (v1.84) drivers aren't very good with MT2. when i go to MT2 and change the audio device to APS ASIO, it keeps crashing my machine.. it could be something screwing with my hardware all the time though cause i know for sure something is wrong in that direction.... when i get new hardware put in next week i'll try again properly with a fresh install of windows..

APS? What's that? I only tested these cards at work, but never digged much further into them, so it might be the native drivers from creative or something. Using asio drivers under MT2 seems also a bit odd to me, since it isn't supported. Or am I totally missing the point here?

okay,
Ive tested the instrument playback in Madtracker using the Casio CTK-571 as input with the kx drivers. Everything sounds okay, though I've had to mess with my latency settings in MT2.3 and kxmixer because it was set too low. |

APS Live! are independently developed set of drivers for EMU10K1 and EMU10K2 based sound cards (such as SB Live! and Audigy) which, unlike creative-suckass-loser drivers, take full advantage of the EMU10K chip's features..
it's a similar thing to kX project, except APS Live! aren't supported in any version of windows NT... that's why i dual-boot to w2k and w98..
