Help yourself, help the internet, dump Internet Explorer, and switch to Firefox.
Firefox is an internet browser that is heaps nicer, faster, friendlier, l33ter and so on. And today, it has been released officially. Try it. It will brighten up your digital life. Really.

Is this thing really fully compatible with any kind of php javascript and flashing going on? I don't wanna help the internet by not being able to enjoy it completely anymore. |

Would Yannick and I use it if it didn't?
Really, just try it. I'll be glad to look into any issues that arrive because of using it, but I suspect not much to be happening.

Well how about this one: I need the flash plugin again, and firefox takes forever 'checkig for available plugins'.
I do like how it looks though, less consumer, more 'professional web surfer'. |

Firefox has absolutely no problem with Flash or JavaScript.
The scripts written in JavaScript have to be standard-compliant though, and not use IE-only features. (Same goes for HTML code.)
Some websites may be broken with Firefox but it's not Firefox fault, but rather the fault of the webmaster.
I've been using Firefox for months now and I'm fully satisfied with it.
Clicking on the IE icon makes me shiver now. And as IE still has many security flaws (and new ones are appearing all the time), you really really really should switch to Firefox.
Walter: installing the Flash plugin should be done in seconds. It might be a bit slow because of the success of the new release.

Indeed... the website is damn slow. That's the price of success.

It might be an idea to wait awhile if you have a great number of extensions installed.
After the update, I only have 5 out of 20 extensions working.
The others have been disabled until updated versions are available. |

I think I know a solution for that (it worked when I upgraded from PR 0.1.0 to RC2 1.0)? The extensions namely are still working, but the change from 0.1.0 to 1.0 confuses them. You can simply change the detection routine Firefox has (ie tell Firefox that it is version 0.1.0 instead of 1.0).

[if reachable, that is. It's a site that offers extensions, and hence quite popular at the moment.]

 |
For those among you who want to get even more out of Firefox: try one of the optimized and custom tweaked Firefox releases of MOOX. He makes three versions (M1, M2 and M3), which are meant for specific processor-lines. MOOX enables faster page rendering, faster loading times of Firefox, and maximal stability. You can find these releases at
http://www.moox.ws/tech/mozilla/releasebuilds.htm
The explanation for which version to use for which processor can be found here:

I just reloaded the extensions and now have 13 out of 20 working.
The biggest problem is getting into the extensionsmirror.nl site that has the compatible ones I still need
From the other sites, just reloading them again made the difference
One nice new one that I ran across is spellbound which can be found HERE
It really helps checking the spelling when posting to forums such as this. |

Ok, so I have firefox, and I like it. But I'm working on a website, and the website sucks in firefox. I'm using frames, and i have scroll set to auto. In internet explorer it looks fine, but in firefox a horizontal scrollbar appears on every page with more then one line of text on it (aligned to the right). This doesn't mean that the text is on one line or something, the text is completely visible, but you can scroll an teenie mini bit too the right (to see the space between words or something? ). Also i'm using some tables on pages, with a border, but in the same color as the background, so you don't see them. But in firefox, you see these ugly 3d looking borders, makes no sense to me. I made the website in frontpage, any ideas on how to fix this? I'll put it online later, so you can see what i mean exactly. |

For a start, stop using Frontpage. This is probably the words HTML authoring program available. Furthermore, it's a MS product, so it basically only cares about IE.
About your problem, you must have something that increases the width of your pages.
