I've had it up to -here- with posting my music in dead forums/ones that are full of bullshit threads. so naturally I tried to find a better one. I searched and searched but no luck. so I registered a domain, called some friends and we made our own.

- a strict showcase/resource forum for artists
- you have to apply for membership
- ejay-hacks and whatnot are not accepted
- people who post crap are banned, no warnings
- no 'chatting'-subforums, this is for music, not lame jokes

www.dead14.com

madtracker peeps are welcome to apply (<3 u) but keep in mind that the project is in the earliest of early stages (it's only 5 hours old at the time of writing this) so there will be changes.

we will be adding quite a few hacks to enhance the experience (such as temporary upload space for WIP mp3's and whatnot), so even though it is pretty dead atm (omg pun) rest assured that it will kick ass eventually.

I've made a manifesto:

http://www.dead14.com/manifesto.php

I would like to make one more thing clear, if me posting about this project here is making anyone feel uncomfortable please let me know. This is not in any way intended to be a competitor to madtracker.org/forum (or any other such forum for that matter), it's simply meant to target a specific need that I feel hasn't been met; A place to discuss material that shouldn't be available/distributed to the general public. This is not a community forum.

I've heard whispers that only underground Chinese-Mandarin Hiphop by 72-year-old numb & female rappers is aloud.

Yeah, after Inge joined with his "Kampai Origami Blip Hop RockAZ"-project the forum has been flooded with obscure randomness.

Seriously though, we don't care about what style it is. The only thing that matters is that it is at a certain level. Not to be elitist assholes, but this is not a forum for amateurs; There are plenty of those around.

Short version: Artists of a certain caliber are accepted, no matter what the style of music.

We still could use more talented people. Apply for fame and fortune (and we also have some hot chicks in there).

Read first, then flame:

and
http://www.dead14.com/manifesto.php

Consider it as a private torrent tracker: less quantity, more quality (atleast, that's the underlaying motivation).

@G3ronimo: Actually I'm mostly happy. If you don't understand the motivation for keeping it on an apply-only basis, then it probably isn't for you. Nobody is judging the applicants' music, they're reviewed only to make sure they actually made it themselves and won't spam everybody with eJay crap. All the moderators go by this. Don't like it? Don't apply. It's fairly straightforward. Still, calling the idea behind the forum for 'bullshit' before sending in your application means it's pretty much given you're not zombie-material.

Rofl... so you don't accept people for criticising the idea of the application form??
I think a forum without any spam and a good enviroment for producers to share their work is a GREAT idea... cause most fora is kinda shitty nowadays...

Just don't like the app. form Wink
Now it's only for the "1337" people...
I think everyone should have the opurtunity to share their stuff... how bad it may be...

I changed my post before you replied to reflect what I meant. I don't know wether or not you'll be accepted (if it was up to me you wouldn't at this point). It's not because you criticise, it's because you do so without showing any interest to understand what it is you're criticising.

Funny you should say that. Have you ever thought that maybe 'most fora is kinda shitty nowadays' is because just about everyone can join? The more mindless crap is being posted, the less interesting it is for people who actually have something worthwhile to post. Think about it.

So, what level of professionality does my work have to be in order to be accepted? Is there a minimum number of pieces to show or is just one enough?
