Workaround: Found a company in some small overseas state like Vanuatu, make it buy the rights of Madtracker development and say "F*** you!" to all them greedy lawyers trying to sue you . |

This is the thing kids. this is why "europe" and the european union sucks. I'm not talking about each individual country here, what I'm talking about is the sickening idea the we can all be goverened under the same hand, England, France, Belgium, Norway, Germany and so on and so forth.
I, for one, will never let the stupid poloticions have an easy time creating the EU nor let its stupid f**king directives rule my life.
They better be careful, those idiots in at the EP, im a quiet kick boxing englishman, but, and im getting closer by the day, of snapping and flipping out - if they dare to control us FREE human beings aby further I wont be held responsible for my own behaviour, Ill be off with a bomb strapped to my arse heading straight for the money bought f*cked up politicias - and Ill have every bleedin last one of em.
grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Of course this patent thing is M$'s weapon against the open-source world.
Besides this, it would crush almost every small IT company around, and of course make a lot of people jobless.
It's now time to tell who's mankind's enemy : It's the big corporate and their lobbies.
Europe was attractive for IT businesses because it had no software patent law, and by passing such stupid directives, the EU comission simply destroys a huge chance for Europe's economy. In other words, and economical suicide.
And they're trying to tell us that we should be FOR the EU...
Sorry guys, I *WAS* for the EU, but what it became just disgusts me.
Vote *NO* to the european constitution referendum ! (if one is held in your country)
BTW, what about the idea of developping MT (and linux) somewhere else ? Australia maybe ? |

Sure, but Crash told you to go to Vanuatu to developp MT.
Here's a picture from a place in Vanuatu :
Doesn't it look like a nice place to developp a tracker ?
Sea, s*x, sun ... and no EU e-patents !

1) If it were governed democratically, it would be all right, but all those bills passed using means to avoid debates in the parliament is anything but democracy. I personally know the local EU representative (he's one of my mother's schoolfriends) and he told me that if the EU is a democracy, then North Corea is one too...
2) Norway is *NOT* a member of the EU !
(But could soon become an alternative to Vanuatu for people who don't like the burning hot sand of a tropical beach) |

Bill Gates has gone too far...
Bush has gone too far...
Soon we will have ww3?
You can always move to Norway, yannick:)
Norway is not in EU (dirctly)...
Btw: Will open source programs also be stopped by this law?

Yes, look at my previous post (with the link).
Right now I run an individual business, but if one day I turn it into a society business then I'll open it in a foreign country anyway (taxes in Belgium are ridiculously high). So why not in Vanuatu or Norway? (Too bad Luxembourg is in the UE...)
And I wouldn't need to move.

As far as I know, the taxes for businesses are astronomically high in Norway too.
Switzerland also looks like a good alternative :
- They are NOT in the EU.
- They speak french (atleast 1/4 of Switzerland)
- The taxes on societies are much closer to the US standards than the French or Belgium ones (I work for a swiss company, and my boss - who once had a company in France - told me that if we were in a EU country, our company would have gone bankrupt every year since it was founded because of the taxes).
- The bank secret is like in Luxembourg.
- Skiing resorts are quite close
No wonder one inhabitant out of 30 in Switerland is a millionaire...
BTW, there is a joke running all around Basel (The main city of Northern Switzerland) :
A man gets in a bank and whispers to the guy behind the desk : "Shhht ! I won $4.000.000 at the lottery and I'ld like to deposit my money in your bank"
And then the guy behind the desk answers : "You don't need to whisper, it's not a shame to be poor"... |

Maybe we should move all the MT2-community with its development to Norway?

You Hear Me Well, But How Obout a little workaround ...
For instance "Kazaa" is distributed not as free music source but as a P2P Node and what you are sharring is your choice and this way they can get away with it. Can you think of something like Instead "Direct Disk Wtiting" use
byte-by-byte Disk Location Locking. If The Locks stay there then the result is just a side effect that you would not take responsibility for ... ( Or Something ) |

I will live forever. So, we'll make music for infinity. Don't worry anybody, especially Yannick.
Thanks again for my favorite program. Have some faith, man. I'm drinking wine right now and making music with MT. I am alive. See? I will be married to an asian girl someday, if God wills. And everything will be ok. Because I know the truth. So, don't worry.
Armageddon will come soon. The Earth will be made back into a paradise. Electronic music will be created with divine technology for thousands of years. No more George Bush, or U.N. No more war, pain, death, old age. Just perfection and life. Ok? |
The [nations] and the [U.N.] will hate the [world empire of false religion] and will make her devestated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire.-Revelation 17:16 |
