Hi all,
Now I saw them Live.
They are indeed all good singers, but Walter was right : the pictures do not show the truth at all and while Amandyn looks still almost the same, that Maryline Walter spotted is indeed awesome ! Not only does she sing perfectly but her look and style are great too. She asked me to write her R&B pop tracks "a-la J.Lo", and that's what I'm gonna do because she's really a great artist. |

Join our jury next year !
They already would like to have Yannick in it !
BTW, as you were the 1st to really notice her, if you compose some r&b/funky stuff "a la J.lo", I can forward your demo to Maryline |

No (not yet), but they sang on both profesionnaly mastered backtracks (famous songs like Natasha St Pier's, Edith Piaf's,...) and some other that came straight out of MT2 running on my laptop and no one noticed the difference in terms of sound quality. The only difference they noticed was that the straight-out-of-MT2 songs were more fresh as they were not (yet?) over played at the radio
The boss of the association said that a programm like MT2 was really great because thanks to softwares like these, young unknown singers can have professionnal backtracks without having to go through Pop idol or something like this (And indeed, the girls were interested, and even a Bolivian contestant who writes his own tracks (that guy did an amazing show BTW!))
That's why he wanted to know if you were interested in getting into the jury (Warning : the task is difficult... I just watched the Eurovision song contest I taped saturday evening, and believe me, none of the entrants except maybe the greek and the swedish one would have even made it into the top 10 of this years local singing contest).
3 years ago, the guy that took the 2nd place at this years french Pop idol took the 4th ranking at this contest... this gives a quite good idea of what the level of the singing contest was!
BTW, the girl I'm producing her album - Caroline - took the 3rd rank in this contest - and without cheating (I gave her the 7th rank).
BTW the results are here :
Winning entry :
Amandine Regis (17 years old from Chambery, Savoie, France)
Song : Mieux qu'ici bas (Better than down here) (Originally by Isabelle Boulay)
Comment : Simply never heard someone singing that well before ! Does a lot of singing contest (and always with the same song...) and often wins them.
2nd prize :
Audrey Linck (20 years old from Colmar, Haut-Rhin, France)
Song : Vivre (live) - from the musical "Notre dâme de Paris"
Comment : Could have won if she had dared to sing a song from her favorite band (Nightwish) rather than a standard (and quite cheesy) musical song.
3rd prize :
Caroline Bitsch (16 years old from Rantzwiller, Haut-Rhin, France)
Song : "L'air du vent" (Theme song from Disney's "Pocahontas")
Comment : I'm thinking about a stage name for her, as her name - Bitsch - is not really "suitable" for a young lady...
Besides this, sorry guys, but I'm already producing her album... MT2 powered !
Fun fact about her : I discovered tracked music a day we could leave school earlier because our french teacher was giving birth to her daughter (and therefore could not teach at the same time)... and guess who that daughter is...
Pictures are (c) by the competition's hosting association : Music'art system. |

You'll copy 200 times "I will not insult TNK's friends" (Copy-paste function not allowed). That's what her mother used to give to those who prefered chatting with their neighbours rather than listening to her class (and as I'm quite talkative...)
(I'm joking of course, don't you think she heard it all before ?)
See now why I think a stage name IS important for her ?!? |

I thought about the following ideas :
- Caroline Rivière (Caroline River) : "Bitsch" means "River" in the local dialect
- Caroline Bergen or Caroline Malmö : Caroline likes cold weather and dreams of moving to Sweden or Norway. Therefore I thought the name of an easy to pronounce Swedish or Norvegian town could help. In the same style, and even colder, I had Caroline Spitzberg.
- Or simply Caroline B. |

In French. The "defense" of the french language against the "english intrusion" is a burning hot issue in France. And her mother is a french teacher... |
