Sunbuster: don't you live in Helsinki? If so: do you think you have time to show me around there? I'm not planning to stay long in Finland, but I do wish to see Helsinki if possible. Anyone else can also apply for this fun little job

Hostel info for Finland: http://www.srmnet.org/index2.php?lang=en
Yeah, I live in a suburb to Helsinki called Vantaa. I'd be glad to show you around. Problem is, my travels this year are done very much at a moments notice as they depend on how much work there is for me at my job. I was in fact planning a trip at the end of july / beginning of august to our summer cottage. But I'll send you my contact info and we'll see what happens |

Today I've bought my actual ticket, so we're at the point of no return now. How do things currently look concerning schedule?
Sunday July 17th, 10.37: I get on the train from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The travel will go as follows: Amersfoort, Osnabrück (Germany), Hamburg (Germany), Koebenhavn (Denmark, I assume?), Helsingoer station, Helsingoer Ferry, and then Helsingborg (Sweden!). The total trip will take 13,5 hours, and I put foot on Swedish territory at Monday July 18th, 00.00 am.
What's next?
1: First thing is meeting up with SoulEye in Helsingborg for various activities, including turning condoms into balloons and demolishing all his Amiga's.
2: After that, a meet & greet is planned with Ecthelion, Ted & Frazze in Lund (next to Malmoe). No booze is allowed then, since these three lads are way too young for that activity.
3: Third will be getting myself to Helsinki, where Sunbuster is waiting with a warm blanket full of atmospheric drum 'n bass and chill out Ibiza style housetracks.
Then things get a bit blurry. The second week is meant for Norway.
4: In Oslo, Binarpilot is expecting me to name all Aphex Twin tracks by heart in less than a minute.
5: In Trondheim, way up north, PyroZane and I are going to knit mittens for the approaching winter.
X: I will return at sunday July 31th, since I need to back somewhere at sunday night/monday daytime.
That's it for now. If anyone has any tips, tricks, advices, couches or hidden places to visit, then let me know in this thread or via inge@madtracker.org. You can reach me both in advance as during my stay in Scandinavia via this forum thread and my e-mail address.
All input is much appreciated, and I'm _really_ looking forward to this holiday so far!
Best,
Inge |

Ah yes. Alcohol is expensive here in sweden too. Thankfully, good old souleye has several bottles of, eh, well, lets just say I like Jägermeister+Redbull a lot.... Oh yeah my mum made "Flädersaft" which takes out all taste of alcohol in any drink it's in (mixes best with vodka) and replaces it with, eh, Fläder.

I bet that the fjords of norway, is the best you get in scandinavia:D How ever it can be hard to get to the westcoast of norway by train.

Aight! I'm in Helsingborg at SoulEye's place. The trip from Holland to here was excellent, and all is looking very, er, Scandinavian so far. The biggest problem are the odd keyboards here, with all the usual characters (@, ', / (&)) at completely wrong locations.
All fine so far. More updates later!

Currently at Malmö. Will stay here another night. Tomorrow I'll visit Lund, then get the nighttrain to Stockholm, and stay there for two or three days. I love Sweden by the way. The women are absolutely gorgeous, the people are extremely friendly, and the cities are simply beautiful. Hurray for Sweden!
