Ok.. Made another slow next one Inge.. Here's the next one I've made today (partially Logic Platinum - partially Madtracker 2.3 ) (Music from VSTi's and breakbeat and mixing is done with Madtracker). Very slow it is..

Hopefully you like it Inge (and others of course - Especially Sunbuster and Mikx because of their positive reactions) ..
Oh and Inge.. The voice of Spirits of Nature (Slicerxxl.mp3) was actually mine . Just fun to know (I know.. I know.. I am not the best singer.. ..) |

Je sais, mon ami, je sais. Why would I have else commented you on it? I didn't knew it was your voice though, but it fits extremely well in the song. Thumbs up again!
Feedback on the other song will follow later. There's a time for listening, and one for sleeping. Check the time, and guess my choice.

I like the sound, but it's a bit too undefined
(i'm still drunk).
Some more defination would work for me, but then that's just ego. |

It was a time for sleeping indeed Inge . I respect your choice. Else I'll only get drunk persons who give their opinions at that time.
( No offense inhousepussy Thanx for your opinion - To be honest - I created this song to be as 'musical' as possible. This automatically created a more complicated tune. Which I like for this kind of music.. If you listen to it more I am sure you will reconize a main theme . Altough I agree with you that it 'feels' a bit undefined..) |

OK. I got to 40secs. and then I thought, "What the hell is this panning bizz????"
Though it's not my ting I must say it sounds like you've filled the sound box, but the panning is a bit banal...
I'd like to hear a funky house cut from you, 'cuz you've obviously got the skills..

@Sunbuster: I finally found time to listen your remix of Melodic Hardcore. I was actually hoping for some wicked drum 'n bass, not a postmodern hardcorish track I think this is too flat, too fast and too superficial. It lacks the darkness of the original tune.
(well, that is something not to be expected. first negative feedback on Jens in years )

Yeah, well, I was at the top for so long, I had to take myself down so that I can do a comeback like all great stars Now of course I have to go through all that drugs'n'drinking thing, in order to get the right comeback-star-glow (or is it stench) around myself...
Ok, back to reality. Sorry to hear you didn't like the tune that much, must say I myself was at least semi-pleased with it. Not the best I've done, I agree, but... oh well, no use in making excuses either About the D'n'B thingy. I actually considered it, but since I haven't been listening to DnB for a while and to be honest didn't have any idea of how this track could have been transformed into DnB tune succesfully (meaning, other than by just removing the 4/4 beat and adding a DnB beat), I decided against even trying.
Anyway, this topic isn't about my tunes, it's about SlicerXXL, so lets get back to him I'll listen to your tune as soon as I get a computer with a working soundcard up and running (still waiting for my new Athlon XP 2600+ CPU and 2x512 MB 400MHz DDR memory, the mobo has already landen ) |

This is quite a nice one, your first that catches my attention.
It has an atmospheric feel over it with all the strings and pads. But the bassline later in the song is too loud and doesn't really fit in among all the pads (however, I like the sound), and the lead synth could be a little louder. And maybe a somewhat more present kick would be nice, this one sounds a bit dull IMO.
And it's a pity that it's quite a bad mp3. It is clipped and bad quality. Do you have a spare source MT2 for me, because I like it! And if you want, I could try some mastering on it, this one screams for a high quality mastered version!
Keep it up!
Big Mo
Edit: Try to make an intro. It starts a little bit all of a sudden. |

the start somewhat reminds me of aphex twin's ambient works. awesome work on the keys though - a nice ambient feel, and i think the track has a good beat too, but the high hats could use a tiny bit of reverb or delays with a wide stereo field, and the bassdrum could be quieter with a whole lot of reverb for that deeeeeep sound - that way i think it would match the keys better.
and now for sxl_niad:
whoaa.. this so reminds me of being at this huge rave that i went to just recently. it was in a massive hall (primarily used as a main tennis court stage for the Australian Open and also for basketball). but the reverberation in that room was massive, so the sound of the music was also .. well i think the only way to explain it was 'godly'! messiah trance haha!
i am enjoying this track, even though i dont usually like trance, and thus you must be congratulated ..

@Big mo: I have the source of the Madtracker file, but unfortunately the file is over 50mb because it contains very large wave-files. Can you name me a place (peer2peer?) where I can upload the file for you?
@inhouse: The file is too large for 'just putting online' in MT2 format. (I also have too little webspace to put it online) >50mb
@mikx: Thanx again . I'll do some work on both of the songs. So I'd be happy to send you a remastered one .
I'll try remixing/mastering myself very soon to remove the mentioned shortcomings of the song.. |

Err, well... I know Lycos Tripod gives 50MB of space, maybe you can compress the file (RAR, best compression) to a smaller file so that you can share it with us on a site there. You'll have to make a HTML file then, cuz no direct linking is allowed.
Maybe Yannick has a spare 50MB on his server for the good purpose?
Cheers
