which reminds me, I like that Madtracker has all the separate windows (mixer, automation, track fx etc.). That means, if one would have the money (and space) for a second monitor you'd be able to spread out the program on both monitors, having all the extra windows in one monitor, and the main window in the other. Not sure if other trackers have this feature, but that at least is one feature I like in MT (and would use if I had a second monitor ).

A second monitor... I've always wondered how that's--*gasp!* Oh my god! Hehe, I've got another monitor here
Hmm... Now, how does this double screen thing work?
Methinks I'll make extra use of this idea. Thanks Sunbuster for mentioning it!

yeah, at least when you have a matrox dualhead card the whole multi monitor thingy is dead simple. Just go into properties and select dualhead multi-display and off you go. |

Or just buy yourself a cheap pci card and use that for the second monitor. 30 euro's (and the price for a new monitor and the place at your desk) should suffice.

sure, theoretically that would work also. But in my experience, playing around with two gfx cards in the same computer always creates some troubles at some point. And since even nVidias cheapest models come with twinview these days, why not get two in one instead (if you don't want to go the matrox way) |

I'd rather go with a projector. Too bad they're so rediculously expensive... |

are we still talking about using two monitors for editing in MT for instance? a projector would of course be way cool for movie watching etc. but the quality is still off when it comes to reading those small labels in the mixer I'd say And sure, the screen gets bigger, but to benefit from that screen the resolution has to be big also (so you get more stuff in), and afaik the highest current projectors go today is 1280x960 or something like that = not enough to really be a benefit |
