Hey
It should be possible for you to run your own server. You need the software, and normally you need to get a fixed IP adress from your ISP, however I have heard of people running servers on common broadband with dynamic (changing) IP adresses. They dont shut down their modem, and they run their own DNS.

There are also online services that give you a static IP which then links to your dynamic IP or something. not sure quite how it works, but the point is you wouldn't have to worry about dynamic IP's. The service checks what IP your computer has when you log on, and the people who use your server can always enter the same IP. |
