Hey all,
Did this remix for a friend of mine. The original is a funk track at about 100 bpm's, beefed it up to 125 BPM for some electro action 
enjoy!

Writing as i listen:-intro: nice blips and blops...oh...and the hihat and snare work is sweet as always in ur tracks..
dang!! fecking great vocal work too..
the overall production smells quality, and the only down side to the track is the "3 min. intro",but other than that there's nothing bad as far as i'm concerned...
When will i see ur name on a 12"??? It's about time man

what does the original sound like.
this is a pretty good mix. the only thing i can knock on (but thats just the way you do things) is it takes pretty long to get to the lyric.
but i like the mix dood.
can i remix it too?
100 bpm. i could put a sweet ass hip hop beat to that |

Nice, I'm not sure how you did that with the vocals but I'm guessing you used the 9 xxxx thing, I like but it sounds alittle dry, you should consider adding an echo only to the last 2 repeats per vocal seperation (maybe every other one or something I dont know), which means eather automation or some track output switching. For some reason I can dream of some really crazy things after the seperations.
Only other thing is the guitar, it fits note by note but I dont know if it adds to the overall feeling of the song or drops it some. Good guitar thou, maybe it just needs some EQ'ing. I'm not a profesinal at this, but this is just what I thought listening to it. Everything else is beutiful I really like this song. There might not be anything wrong with the guitar, I dont know cant put my finger on it. |

hey all, tnx for the feedback!
I'll ask him if I can upload the original so stay tuned for that
All the drum tracks are routed thru a speaker sim plugin. wich is switched on and off from time to time and also has a great tube-compressor and some wicked verbs and fx's. The lead vocals are spinned thru Smart electronix's 'Buffer Override', it gives that 9xxxx feel to it, but then random, it's controled by an lfo so it's different every time I play the track.

Well... I went to an 'demo-listen session' the other day at the Amsterdam Dance Event. But they all said my music was to 'expirimental'...
So no succes there...
But I'll keep popping out tunes that's for sure

no doubt!!...must be a fucked up company...Why not burn a fair amount of CD's and send them "shopping"..?Try some of the english labels, they should be up for it, hopefully...

wtf? they must have been a bunch of 'pop idol' type douche-bags or something? it's too experimental for what? dance music IS experimental.. *sigh* i look down on people who say this kinda crap.. i bet there are at least 20 underground labels around europe who would consider releasing this track. and if not, you can always save up a bit of money and do it yourself..
anyway, as for the track, you never fail to impress! quality production, quality music.. well done once again! (how many times have i said this about every other song you made? )

actually, I'd dare say most of the stuff categorised as dance music is pretty lame stuff these days, not very experimental in other words. Compare your average dance track with QBical's stuff and QBical's stuff will sound experimental. Not a bad thing in my book, but the labels/people in question obviously was/were too afraid to do an experiment themselves...
actually, maybe you (QBical) should try Jori Hulkkonen's label, "F communications" in France. His music at least sometimes resembles your tracks in that it's pretty "experimental" from time to time. |
