So keep those tips coming! The more, the merrier. Also, feel free to give feedback on existing tips concerning updates, different wordings, or additions on them.

Ok, well here's mine then:
To reset a volume fader, click on it to select it and then press home (when it's below the middle), or end when it's above the middle.
Something like that? Explaining in a clear manner is always hard to me in english. Maybe one of the native speakers here can correct it.
Edit: Oh yeah, the trick 'press shift+tab after creating a new track to go to that track directly' doesn't work for me. |
what is hip?

The tips appear too random, I think. Most software keep track of what was displayed already in order to ensure that the user sees all of them in a sequence instead of some more often than others. Maybe MadTracker should keep track of this, too. |

I have something to add to some of the things Sunburster suggested.
In addition of routing your tracks to share your FX, you can also route your tracks to share EQ. This is best for instruments that are spread out onto more then one track, though not suggested for percussion instruments.

Here's something that I can't live without.
Invest in some good headphones. It will enhance the experience and you actually hear how the whole arrangement really sounds like. Thus enabling you to change the bad parts you couldn't hear before, like poor samples, clicks, pops, panning etc. |

Listen to your mix and master on several sound systems to get a good idea of what is optimal for as many systems as possible. |

here a trick, yannick told us once:
if you want to have only the wet reverb-sound, so
subtract the dry sound from it. you can do this
by playing one sound with the reverb, and the same sound
in another track without reverbb but using the effect command
08 0300 to flip booth stereo channels.
using this method on the analog-filter-effect will create
a hipass-filter instead of a lopass filter.
other combinations are possible, too |
