VST fx columns, next/previous note find

two points:

1) is the ability to control vst parameters via fx columns, rather than automation, planned for mt3?

2) how about a next/previous note finder? i am working on a song started by a friend and, rather than search manually through all the patterns to find out if he has any notes in a certain track, it would be nice to be able to jump to the next/previous note. this would also be handy if you needed to perform a function on every note in a track, setting the volume, changing the instrument, or setting the panning for instance.

You can use the MIDI CC pattern command (CC xxxx) for that purpouse. You'll have to check the CC-mapping of your plugin though - most of them should support standard CC messages.

Nice idea. (Added to TODO.)

CC stands for Continuous Controller data and is simply put instructions (codes) that you send to your midi device (VSTi for instance), which in turn make the device do something. One CC command could for instance tell the midi device to reset.

This command isnt documented in the helpfile. I`d like to know how the syntax works. I tried it with some random values with CC 8XXXX I got it to freeze Madtracker Smile So if someone knows how to work with it I`d be glad about some help. Smile

I have no idea how this should work in Madtracker actually. Afaik you need a CC code list for the plugin/midi device to know what command to send to it.

CC 121 is the reset command for most midi devices, so perhaps by entering CC 0121 in Madtracker's effects column you could get a device to reset?

best would perhaps be if Yannick would put togheter a short tutorial on this subject Wink

CC xxyy
were xx is the controlernumber 0-127 (00-7f)
and yy is the value 00-7f. greater values
restart from zero again. i used it in
a reaktor-like synthesizer, were you can
set the cc-numbers for varios controls
i.e. cutoff, pitch ...and it works here.
