dudes! i need a sound. i need the funk synthesizer that you hear for instance in bastian's you've got my love, and rockwell's somebody's watching me (in the solo). anybody found a synthesizer that does this? or anybody can tell me what kind of settings make up this sound (so i could perhaps make my own preset)? any help would be appreciated.

NI's pro 53...

Atleast if I catch your drift with the sound... Like all those funky cassius like synths...

To remake it : take 1 osc with an saw wave, take another one with a saw wave and detune it to taste, then aply an LFO over the 2nd osc. and modulate the detune to create that flowing sound.
Experiment with the attack env. and always enter your synth's notes a little bit off beat.

I thought you need to use the 'FREQ' switch in the lfo window ( in pro 53 that is ).
My 'remake guide' was more for the other synts, the pro-53 should have some good presets for you to work with...

i got something in the fm7 that looks like it. and i'm looking for the quadrasid plugin, i heard bastian gets all his sounds from the sidstation (hardware version). so i'll be ok. thnx for making me try it myself, 'cause i really need to start making my own sounds. Very Happy

I got QuadraSID off my friend, and I found it very sluggish and heavy on the CPU: it crashed, juggled between programs without warning and reset the presets several times!) The sound quality doesn't seem to match my SIDplay2/w either...
...All those things could be a result of the CPU-heaviness (but I have a pentium FOUR, damn it!) so if you want to give it a try I can send it to you too. Maybe you'll have better luck, but please heed my warning! Smile
