I'm totally new to this tracking thing, but i've got most of the basics down.
In some example stuff that came w/ it (like the audio configuration test by SoulEye) i see boxes where the notes usually go. by soloing these tracks out, it seems that they stop the sound that was in that track. I've searched all around and I can't find how to put those in.
any help would be great! |

If I understand correctly - try the "Caps Lock" key.

since it's stupid noob questions time i'd like to make one myself. how do i put dynamic panning in my VST instrument? for example using the Synth 1 VSTi? i've tried with automation, and writing the panning numbers in the tracking window and still can't get the effect. the only way is to set the panning directly into the plugin window, but i want it to be dynamic! sorry if this question is stupid but i searched and couldn't find it yet. pardon my english. and thanks for reading. |

I have asked a similar question myself earlier, and I dont think you can alter than (MT)pan of a VST - but Im not sure if Yannick has implemeted this in one of the later releases...Im sure that this is a feature that many would want.
You may also try to se if the VSTi itself has a Panslider which is controable from automation, event though the MT slider wont. Perhaps a VSTe?
Hopefully Yannick or Inge will read this an correct me if Im wrong.

The panning column should work in most cases. But I know some VST simply ignore it.

You could try mda-vst's Image VST effect plugin. As usual, you can assign it to any available channel (including Master), and in all the cases that I've tried, it will effectively 'override' the fixed and seemingly unalterable stereo position of some VSTs. If I remember rightly, its parameters can be controlled by MT's automation facility. Of course it would be nice if some VST makers didn't ignore stereo panning commands (unless there are technical reasons for doing so).

ok got another question; again probably simple
can you make the notes go higher than just the normal keyboard layout (other than within a plugin)?
i think i've seen c-5 and higher before. |

Use the F-keys to change the octave. Or change it from the top toolbar (on the right).
