Audio Converter

Hey all!

I'm looking for a freeware audio converter that'll let me convert 24 bit to 26bit wavefiles...

I read this magazine computer music, and on it's included DVD they include samples, 24bit samples that I can't use in madtracker, I need to convert the entire directory structure to 16 bit. I have found some converters but they only let me convert files and not directory's...

Tnx in advance!

Sonic Foundry makes a batch convertor for the pc. If your 3 gigs are in wave format, then yes you can use their convertor no problem. It is very painless. I believe Cool Edit also has some batch functionality- they have a support for scripting. But specifically the bit depth conversion- I would suppose so. Awave also has batch mode for certain functions. My best bet would be sonic foundry, though it doesn't support .raw import which can be a pain.

Foobar2000: Freeware with batch.

You will have to enter the output (convert/settings) menu and uncheck the "keep lossless sources at original bit depth" Also check if default bit depth is set to 16.
