To support my vote: Frazze, because it reminded me of the soundtrack of Heretic (which I played for, oh, 46 nights in a row). His laugh doesn't compare to how scared I was of the laughing dark wizards in this game, but I definately dig the environment he tried to create.
Good entries btw! Magnar's dentist-drill also was scary, but hey, you can't win with ripping a FX-cd-rom, can you? |

I'm not going to vote for my own entry for sure:D but I have a hard time choosing between factor and sunbusters entry, but after listing carefully my vote will go to factor.
Blaster: sounds like a happy place at the start, then almost got scared of the "booo!" at the end:D
Factor: My vote/Great atmosphere and good samples
Frazze: Unlike Inge, Guess I have not heard the soundtrack of Heretic:D
Sunbuster: Also very great atmosphere there.
MagnarTBL: The scariest of them all (Can feel the hair on my arms shiver of the sound), to bad its not a valid entry:( |

Magnar thanks for being honest here, explaining the sitution.
And I must say that I admire your attempt of using an mp3 player to record some real dentist sounds, so don't worry
Your final mt2 file is a valid entry and can be voted on
Magnar's mt2 can be founded here!

All really nice, but mine is the best of course...
Seriously, Factor managed to create a really nice sci-fi horror movie ambience. Compared to us others it seems he's put more effort into creating something unique also imo, that's why he got my vote. |

I basically just went out in the garage, rattled some carkeys, trashed a paper (like trashing the pasient papers), cough a time and went hitting the hammer on a metalplate 3 times. Took me about an hour to finish when I just got my ass in movement to do it!
The drill is still fx cd tho.. I would love to use my own record from the visit at the dentist, but it just got to crappy from the mp3-player. The drill didn't sound right in 22,2kHz mono at all.. And I was too shaky from actually being drilled on, so the mic on the mp3 player wasn't really holding still and close to the soundsource either for natural reasons.
Thumb up for all of you that laid more hours in making your entry.

I think all the works are very good. It's a pity that I can give only one vote and no points. So I decided after long time listening to all the works to vote for Factor. His track is well made and also has excelent quality of sounding. It's really scariest track
That doesn't mean that all other tracks are bad. By my mind, all of them could be used in the scary movies. I wouldn't surprise to hear such tracks in thrillers or horrors.
A few times while listening to those tracks I was really frightened.
It was a good idea to make such compo. I'm so sorry that I couldn't take part in it. I promise, next time I'll. |
