I'm not sure if Yannick will be announcing this officially, but I've also offered to master the three winning tracks, so each of the winners will receive a mastering done by me (for those who don't know me, I'm an aspiring mastering engineer, and currently specialise in mastering via a small and upcoming mastering business). Some conditions do apply (it may be that I'll require you to make some changes to the mixdown in preparation for mastering), and of course you don't have to take the offer if you don't want to. It's just an extra prize here for the winners to take if they want it. |

Thank you Atlantis for ofering your mastering skills as a price
Boosting up the top3 songs by a (in my humble opinion a great technician) will make people even realise more what the powers are of this, our favorite!.. program called: "Madtracker 2.5"

Also, if there were an accompanying guide to what was done and why to the tracks, that would be very nice. |

That would be the best prize ever...
Seriously, no, I'm afraid I can't do that. I mean, think what it would mean for me. Everything I've worked so hard for, freely available for everyone to use, only to have my hopes of ever making it as a mastering engineer shattered. I mean, it's not like I provide my clients with with a detailed set of instructions on how I went about mastering their material, only to have them bugger off and do it themselves next time. It just wouldn't work for me.
OK, it might not be quite that bad, but still... I'm here to help and provide tips, but I'm not about to give away everything. |

It'll bring new meaning to the word mastering to those who don't realise what the difference between mixing and mastering is, believe me.
Anyway, looking forward to being a part of the competition. |

There are tons and tons of guides out there on the web, read them, use them and learn by hearing what the different things do...
Oh and atlantis, when you publish your way of working with mastering here it won't mean that you'll get less clients, think of it, I don't have the bucks to get my tracks mastered and with me a load of other people , so your clients won't be coming from MT.org. And your 'guide' would not include the gear that you use to master ( many $ costing equipment and stuff ), so if people try your tips they go out and use the same crappy Cool Edit effects as they always used, just in a different way, resulting in a probably better sound. But it won't match up to a prof. masterd track with expensive stuff...
