Indeed, I wonder if it ever comes back. But in the meantime Cutetrancegirls seems a nice place to get your music.

Although the amount of mods posted is quite low Crying or Very sad

Regards

sadly, homemusic.cc looks to be dead. When you go to www.homemusic.cc, a page greets you that says "Welcome to your new Web Site". The domain seems to be up for grabs now... Sad

It seems that all sites like that end up dead before long. That is a pitty, because I liked TiS and HomeMusic.cc

I doubt it will happen. Not because of hosting problems anyway since I'll host it soon. Cool

The thing is, I think a lot of people that start up these pages missjudge the amount of work and the cost of such a project. If it get's succesfull you're looking at increasing bandwidth costs and increasing time spent servicing the site, and since the creator seldome wants too much economic burdon from a more or less hobby site, he starts to take money for certain services. But since people basically don't want to pay for anything, the creator never gets enough money to cover the costs, thus the project fails. Maybe the biggest threat to these kind of sites is that they get too succesfull Rolling Eyes

Since I have my own server now, I try to host some scene-related websites. I started to mirror the Hornet Archive, then I hosted the UT Sounding Board (under re-construction at the moment), and next one will be CTG.

Do you have enough bandwith??? Well in case of CtG it can't get worse since it's slow as hell.

I must say the madtracker site loads really fast on my 56k connection. Hate to see it all slowing down Crying or Very sad

I thought you only had a dedicated 10 mbit line for your server. Hosting mt, ctg, hm and not-mentioned ones seems rather, er, rough for such a line. Or am I mistaken here by bandwidthcalculations?

You are a bit mistaken Wink

It's not a 10, but a 5 Mbps line. And it's far from being full yet. These 3 sites will have about the same popularity (for now). And the bw of MT.org is not very high. (Webistes like these, do not consume a lot.)
