I had a problem that i couldnīt open the edit window so i reinstalled madtracker again. And the problem with the edit window was solved. But when i opened a song iīve been working on for several monthīs it sounded completly different.
The bass i know very low and the song in general sounds different.Anyone who knows i can get the previous sound again ? Iīve tried several different audiosettings but the problem remains.
Please help me best regards Conny |

Weird one. Did you chance the drivers of your soundcard? Certain soundcards (such as the creative ones) can influence the output of the sound quite much, although the difference you describe sounds more like completely altered samples. My previous (cheap) soundcard also sometimes affected my samples, so that might be a reason. Apart from that, altered filtersettings is the only thing that I can come up with. Got any idea yourself what might have caused the problem, so that others and I can look for a possible solution?

No i havenīt changed the driver for my soundcard.
But i believe it all has something to do with my soundcard.
I have value audio dsp 24 and it sucks big time.
But what do you mean with altered filtersettings can they get changed within a saved song.I donīt really understand.

Well, don't be afraid...I also don't understand a thing about it. Is there only one sample altered, or is the entire sound of the song altered? If only one sample has been altered, maybe a low-pass filter has been changed to a high-pass filter? (merely guessing here ofcourse).

no sorry . The problem is still there. i can here it on all the other songs iīve made. Evrything sounds worse in a strange way, like the instruments are distorted or something.

Check configuration / audio so that you don't have anything weird there like 11k 8bit mono and 'no interpolation' or such.
Did you install 2.3.0 and was the older one also 2.3.0?
Do you have the Winamp plug thing, how does that play it?
How does Winamp play regular mp3s (or other programs in general, to ensure it's mt2, not your soundcard) |

I believe had the same version before 2.20.
2.30 is the latest release isnīt it.
Im using the same output from an other musicprogram (orion platinium) and here it sounds ok.
I will try to play my mtīs in winamp and see how it sounds then iīll come back with more info.

It also seems to make a difference when you doubleclick a MT2-file in a browser, or just opening it in MadTracker. Opening from a browser plays MT2-files in Mono-mode and lowers the volume (but no settings are changed), when everything is allright when I open the module in MadTracker.
Don't know if this has something to do with it. If it does, switch some settings while playing (Mono/Stereo for instance) and the problem mentioned above will be solved. |
