Triplets and voice syncing

Hi there!

I have some questions I'd like to get answered :>

First of all.. is there some easy way to create triplets? Dunno if it's called that in english (trioler in swedish). Like 3 1/4 notes in 2 beats.

Second, I'd like some tips for voice syncing. How ever I do it the vocals always get's out of rythm. I know the lyrics itself is right cuse I sing while listning to the music. It's when I add the recorded file to MadTracker it get's out of sync. So is there any smart command for setting a sound of by just milliseconds or something? (Any tips for vocals welcome since I haven't really done that before) Smile

Cheers!

About triplets: check out this search result.

Vocals ain't my cup of tea. I remember cutting, stretching and moving samples for ages when I was working on a Sting-remix, so you might consider preparing for the worst. There are some vocalists on the board, so they should be able to help you further.

as for syncing the vocals: i'd recommend to split it into several pieces (one not longer than a pattern in time) and cut everything "unneccessary" out - like silences (EDIT - only from the beginning and ending of the sample tho Smile ) and do the timing you would do with silences by positioning the vocal samples in the right place in the pattern.

i also often turn on Synchronized (sample tab) for vocal samples. play with the Beats parameter aswell to get the fitting sync - won't be that hard Wink and of course you may have to use some offsetting (9xx or 09 xxyy - i'd recommend the latter since it's way more flexible) here and there.
