I just stumbled upon the freeware audio mixer REAPER. It resembles Adobe Audition a lot, but it's (currently) freeware. It supports a lot of audio types and plugins and looks to be a promising tool for mixing and mastering (for example) the individual waves exported from MadTracker. You might wanna give it a try.

nice! its really easy to use which i think is its best point. along similar lines, audacity:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

is also a nice bit of editing software, and its open source so completely free.
