un-focking-believable!!!
I come home today, and my girlfriend confesses she used my computer to download some music, no problem she uses my computer often,...I've got soulseek installed and told her she could use that,....but no........she has to download spyware-ridden focking Kazaa! According to her the comp. freezed during install. and she got scan messages from the kerio firewall. After rebooting she claimed, the comp. worked 'normal'.
After hours of cleaning up her s**t on my comp. (errordoctor + manually removing kazaa stuff) & rebooting I get this windows error notice that it can't validate that I have got a legal activated copy!!! I need to go through the activation process again, I've got a legal copy, but after inserting the code, it says I've activated too many times!!!
AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!&!.5
I dunno how kazaa nestles on a pc, or maybe I got hijacked by some other s**t, but I feel like crying...in 2005 I lost data from 2 faulty harddisks and can't afford another loss now, especially with the exams coming up for school in a few months... I need my data! I need to work on my s**t.
Sorry, I have to vent my frustration here! I feel like killing somebody, prolly myself first for not having set up install-rights/passwords blah.
Strangely enough, I can run windows in safe mode & browse the internet through the online activation method(wtf?) Is this normal when windows isn't activated?
Also does anyone here have similar experiences with the kazaa spyware & how did you remove it from the computer?

Not that fond of hitman pro, since it sometimes locks up during the process of installing and running the sixteen million anti-adware/spyware programs. Adaware, Ccleaner & Spybot should suffice, in my experience. You can furthermore use Hijack This to see which threads are running, which you can then google or post in their forum for detection of bad elements. |

ARGH that sounds bad m8! And please dont go hang your self hehe. There is always a way to fix it even if its hard.

thnx for the replies, I'm still alive 
I called windows customer service this morning, explained them my case..and they were friendly enough to grand me another activation code As for the spyware, I checked this site:

and was able to delete most files...I used the hijack utility (http://www.pchell.com/support/hijackthistutorial.shtml) to delete some spyware registration from my comp..and this abled me to run the online virus/malware check Trend micro site (http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp) to delete over 20(!) trojans. Fucking kazaa, if someone can direct me to their physical adress in the world I have no problem doing a columbine.
I'm gonna setup a new account for my girlfriend with no rights (back to the middleages) + let her browse solely with mozilla.
Thank god I still have all my data!

Since when is the amount of computer knowledge based on which gender you are of?
Sorry about the troubles with your computer though :/ .. Always a mess when someone who don't know what they do tries to do something they think they know how to do..
