here are two tunes that i've been working on lately. neither is particularly finished, but i thought i'd see if y'all had any suggestions. at this point i'm not too concerned about the mixing aspect of it (so you may need to turn up yo speakers); mainly i'm fretting over the song structures and that sort of thing. so please let me know what you think!

drum & bass one (with fucked up string part which i am about to fix Wink):

Link to the first one does not work!

The second one was heavy stuff! Nice drum.. the breathing on the intro was kinda cool! Vocals freaky too! Very Happy I like it!

Track 1 DnBee2
+ beats
+ mood
- Pad (its not fat or sharp enough)

I would also like something to break the very electroic sound, like a piano or guitar, or something. That would be neat. Also i think that the plucky thing should be a little louder.

Track 2 Evyll
+ beats
+ mood
+ samples
- vocalsample is mislooped
- Pad (same as in track 1)

The hardrockguitar on this one is hawt! Vocal is cool also but its mislooped (i guess you knew that) and it needs reverb.

Great tracks, awsome work! Very Happy

That drum 'n bass track definately shows class and potential. Very dark, almost Source Direct alike. Please continue working on that one! The proposed piano or guitar are not supported by me, but then again I like music that estranges the listener from normal ideas.

The second track is quite mediocre. It's nice, melodic hiphop, but without a distinct face. The vocal is indeed very odd, and the song shows no clear direction. There's some hint of Red Snapper, but then with less attitude and identity. Consider checking out Backini - Re:creation. He does some amazingly wicked things within this direction of music.

evyll - i liked it a lot up to about 3 mins, it has a prodigy sound to it. but overall the track was quite lofi, there werent any high frequencies (noticeable most in the drums), maybe thats the compression on the mp3?

dnbee2 - def prodigy sounding, the pad is off out of space? and there are fx that are off weather experience? anyway, its a really cool track. especially where that big dark distorted pad starts up. there were no probs with the high freqs in this one and there are some nice touches with the drums.

cheers

andy
