Searching for count samples

Hey all,

I've been searching the internet for a few samples of a male voice just saying "one" "two" etc. Sounds very simple to me but I can't seem to find any.

I want to use them for counting down on a clicktrack for my band. Any help is greatly appreciated Smile

Cheers,

BenŽ

I know this is going to be suggested, so I might as well suggest it right away. If it's only for a click-track I'm thinking quality is not that important, so why not just grab a mic yourself and record it?

Actually, quality is important, since a lot of noise etc can disturb the sound. I worked with another band that had such samples and it worked great. Besides that, I don't want to hear myself count. Everyone hates to hear his own voice Wink

And it's so common, it should be available on the net, right Question

A long time ago I sampled a male voice who did these numbers from a educational cd for learning how to play guitar. It contained all numbers, because the male instructor introduced each new part this way. You should check out something like that.

You could also try using a text-to-speech synth and just write the numbers you want and save it in individual samples or all in one. The sound is usually really static, but that way no has to hear their own voice Smile

This is one example:

Another tip, although a bit vague: Try to get a hold of a CD called Raverman's Friend. I don't have it myself atm. but I remember there being one track that had a count from 1 to 9, and I even think it was without any background instruments. I'm not sure, but I think the track you should be looking for is Jam & Spoon's hands on Yello - You Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess

Hehehe it's great. Won't be using it for the sequencer tho, but I bet we can do something else with it. Thanks for the effort!

The text to speech thingy did the trick! Thanks MyztiQue!

Oh and Sunbuster, you made me curious. I'll try and get a hold of that one.

Thanks all for helping me out!
