Hey everyone.
My new website is now up and running.
http://mechanism.madtracker.net
There is a flash version and the norm html, I personally would recommend the flash version.
I would appreciate some feedback on the website and the music, especially if there are any problems in regards to programming.
Go check it out!

it looks good, although imo having the atmosphere louder and the sfx on the mouse overs quiter would be good. also, can you centre the website to the screen? its all in the top left of my window.
i like the drop down circuit board, its a good idea.
cheers

You exported the FLA to SWF wrongly, select 100% 100% output when you export the swf from flash it will fillup the screen
Edit:
I've looked it up @ home, the correct publish settings are :
HTML tab, set Dimensions on Percent, width and height both to 100. (100 x 100 percent)
Than publish and use the included html of the swf for your index file on the page (rename it to index.htm or index.html , and it will be allright. The swf will adapt to the size of the explorer window. (u can also edit your index.htm(l) file , but this is the quick 'n easy way anyways).
Succes, have fun, whatever |
Music ... is endless ... Work in progress ...

If you use bitmap images in your swf then using the 100% approach is not to recommend as it can look awful very easily (just because a bitmap is imported to the vector enviroment in flash it doesn't mean it will scale like a vector image would). Better to export to a defined pixelsize and then play around with div's and/or tables to get it all centered.
here's a link that explains how to center content using css.
The main links (cog wheels) on the swf page look a bit blurry. I'm guessing you're using bitmaps there? I'd suggest trying to convert as much as possible of that to vector format. The only thing you might have trouble with is the highlight around the text, everything else should be easily converted. The highlighting probably needs to be done in some other, non-blurry way unless you're using Flash 8, which should support this kind of text fx afaik. |

R u talking about the blur effect when the cogs move? Or is it just in general? |

The cogs when they stand still look a bit out of focus. Compare the text when you hover over one of the cogs with the text that's at the bottom (atmoshpere on/off) and you should see that the cogtext is not as clean/sharp. Parly this probably is because of the highlight you're using around the text on the cogs. |
