quadraSID in MadTracker
Reply with quote

Hi there!

Is there anyone using quadraSID in MadTracker, too? I can not get the channels working correctly. One quadraSID VSTi contains 4 SID modules with 4 channels each. That is a sum of 16 channels per loaded plug-in, which can be addressed as midi channel 1 to 16 in common VST hosts. But I just don`t get it how to address these channels in MadTracker.
I know there is a tutorial on "Using VST Plugins" and that for multi-timbrality I have to go to the synthesizer tab in order to somehow assign the VSTi channels to MT channels. But either I am too stupid to understand the tutorial (I hope so, because then there still may be a solution) or quadraSID doesn`t provide multi-channel usage in coorperation with MadTracker. (And maybe "multi-timbrality" is not meant as "featuring multiple channels".)

A bit sad nobody has answered this with a solution. But I'll tell you four completely irrelevant things: there are 3 types of people in this world: Those who can count and those who cannot.

Well, I've used quadraSID on a quite few tunes and found it didnt intergrate correctly, eg loosing the settings when loading a saved mt2 file.

In the end i just sampled the output, defeating the whole point of vsts but it got my desired effect.

I'm unsure (or i couldnt get it to work) if quadra will work properly with MT2.

Soz if I've been not so helpful Very Happy

@em22: Thank you! At least there`s a little answer at all.

@SoulEye: Didn`t get it (maybe it`s too early on monday morning for me). But greetings to the Pärlan vid Sundet anyway.

Loaded quadrasid into madtracker

Instrument one (channel one) the default BD thing;
Made a new instrument, enabled quadrasid into it as VSTI in the instrument properties (midi/VST instrument) and did set the channel to 2;
In quadrasid i choose the DHS pacman maze as instrument on channel 2.

Works!, maybe this was a simple test but the multi-timbrality seems to work in my case ...

cheers,

A simple, but high-quality answer! It works indeed! I have never really been into instruments before.
So now I am a little less stupid and can be a little more creative.
Thanks Franklin!!
