AM-1 - Broken

Hi All

Ive been busy again, this time its ambient breaks. its incredibly depressing (i was tired today) so dont listen if youre not feeling great atm.
ive gone for weird glitchy drums and tried to tailor them to add to the atmosphere.

the link is:

www.am-1.co.uk/tracks/AM-1_Broken.mp3

im not sure how the mixing and mastering is cos ive done it with headphones, its quite quiet, but its ambient so i suppose thats ok.

anyway, hope you enjoy it.

cheers

andy

Hey, it's not incredibly depressing, Andy-man. You tricked me into listening. In my eyes (ears) it's hmm.. Almost like easy chill out-stuff. Something to listen to during the nights when you can't sleep.

Don't know what is that sound starting from the beginning, but it's sleepy. I love it, ah. I like the automation on the bass, when it comes into play. Though I think that the rising of the cut off later on brings the track an unnecessary feeling of dance music. And somehow... The feeling of the beginning vanishes. Don't know if you wanted to make it not-so-ambientish, though. I feel like it's rising and rising and... Rising... And... Soon it's trancing the house. While in my opinion it shouldn't be. Oh, the dub-sound (if that's a correct term) is nice, soft, too... Generally an OK track, keep up the productivity.

Alright, some new ambient.

Nice experimenting on the drums, they give a nice dark feeling to it. It kinda starts a bit to slow for me, but when the bass comes in with the melodie it really get's started. Ik really like how you let the bass come up and the melodies great.

Not your best ambient, but really nice to listen to

Man. You should definately pick up the already mentioned Incunabula by Autechre (http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=352). You surely have the skills to make beautiful IDM (as suggested (and hoped) previously).

thanks to everyone for commenting.
inge - i have pretty much all of autechre's tracks. i used to love the moodyness of their music. ill have to dig out the cds.
i think im going to stop making trance so much and making ambient and house instead, im bored of trying to make a genre that has been covered almost completely already.

thanks again everyone
