Hello,
Since a short time I'm using Madtracker.
I run XP (Home), and i can play MT2 files in Madtracker, but they sound a bit noisy (Like you have set an equalizer at maximum). With the Winamp plugin, it plays ok in Winamp.
I discovered Madtracker on my work, there I have also XP running (Prof). There, the MT2 file plays OK.
What's wrong ? I've already "played" with the configuration, but can't get it done.

Check your Gain-value in Configuration/Audio. Value 3-4 should be ok, but try to lower it until there's no distortion anymore.

Try to not use a DirectX device. With bad drivers, DX sound will be badly emulated. Select the first device (Wave Mapper) or the second.
