First of, that detuned thing is quite cool!
The intrsumental parts are nice overall.
Though I feel the voice is a bit weak, give it some more power!
Nice song! |

It needs some jammin' stuff in the lower middle register. The bass should maybe be funked up a bit.
The voice should have more subharmonys and be a little louder.
I like the chilled mood. Real relaxing. |

Hey Elija, long time no see.
First off, there is a huge click in the beginning of 'A Part in This' , not bad or even hardly noticeable just a simple fix. Everything else is sweet. A nice thick kick, bumps the groove on, but the detuned 'tink synth' takes away of from the sub laying harmonies between the bass, pads, backing synths, and ePiano sounds (not sure about the ePiano, if thats what it is, maybe rodes). Just my oppinion, but if you add some double kick's (or something) for some of your transfers you might get a greater effect of a transfer.
Vocals, are great. If you added some automated echo at the end of some of the phrases, I think it would be great, really fallow the beat with the echo though , and make it very apparent that the echo is there too, but only for the last word or two of the phrases. Turn down the reverb when the echo goes on, it makes it sound abit muddy (personal experiance). Sorry, this might be too indepth, but I like the mood you have set, it's great. 1/4 bar echo i think would punch with the beat.
over all good work! |

thanks for the responses guys. i dont normally do house. and i appreciate the input.
styr: i agree about the vox and i want to definately do a different take on the vox, that was kind of a scratch track.
frazze: i hear what you are talking about on the middle freq's and the bass for sure, i think i have a good idea.
non: i actually know what you mean about the echoes. and i dont know why i didnt think of that. hehe.
to be honest, i like the plink, its kinda catchy in a way. i want to put some good epiano, thats mda epiano, but i want to record something from my juno now...
thanks for the response. ive been wondering if i should have a second verse or if its neccessary. but i guess thats all my decision. see u guys in a bit... |
