Heres another track from me. this time its progressive trance, all made in one go over about 8 hours. the idea was to get a driving dancefloor track. think i managed it.

Listening...
Nice part before the bass kicks in!
Don't sure about that rhythm... a little messy I think.
Hmm... not really chilly, a bit too "hasty", and not dancy either...
Here comes the synths, good melodies.
Maybe you should have gone with a 4/4 beat. (Know I'm boring )
The pads are great!
At 5:40, the beat sounds right, but when the clap and open hi-hat comes in at 6:09, it's a bit too much. Lower the volume on them.
Now I'm digging it, the part between 7:00 and 8:08 is great!
Ok... a decent track after all, but not really my style. Just lower the percs and hats a bit.
I'm always impressed by those who can make such long tracks without them getting boring
This wasn't boring at all, but not dancefloor material imo. Might suit well when you're on the bus reading.
Quality stuff mate! |

Wow, this is neat.
The first minutes or so I wasn't feeling you on the mood the synths create but the you get into it. Especialy the bass and filtering stuff gets it going. An intresting rythmical idea for such a track but I think it works great. Mixing is real good too. Even the ending works and I don't usualy go for that kind of thing.
The best 'Exprimental' track so far. And one of your best all in all. |

thanks for the feedback!
oneup - i changed the clap completely, i hadnt noticed it was taking over my mix. progressive trance/house is popular in the uk atm, and popular on dancefloors. its a softer, more rhythmical sound than in europe and thats what i was aiming for.
(if youre interested, check out any mix or track by markus schulz, thats the sound im aiming for).
frazze - thanks very much it does take a while to get into the track. the start and end are mix in and mix out for the dj though. |

Magic song! You've really got me into this ambient track stuff andy!
This song is exactly what I expected, a great piece of work!
I could analyze it part by part, but it's much more quick to say "it's totaly super".
Still like "Four" the most though
(Btw, the links to the other tracks you posted under the name Experential is broken.. :/ I wanted to get those onto my iPod too!) |

The kick is good I think, that something which sounds like reversed claps or something is nice too. Moody beat and percussion at the start. Long way home through some mystic lands it seems. Repetitiveness(?) is quite much present here, too. Not sure if I like it, but can't dislike much if it doesn't bother me. Then turning into more soundscapish stuff, which I don't like. Rhythm and beat are still there luckily. After the break some kind of a change in mood, maybe too long for me. More change, less stability. At 4:40 the high-pass automation (?) doesn't do it for me. Nor do the other similar tricks in this one. I agree on hihats needing a bit lower volume on 6:09. Hmm, you have side-chained something at 7:24 with the kick, like that. And it even fades away just when it's getting just damn annoying. Great!
Nice track overall. |
