Got the very thing. A university did a music project where they sampled from all their instruments, at different sound levels, under excellent recording conditions.

http://theremin.music.uiowa.edu/MIS.html

They have them in C in eight octaves, in pizzicato (very soft), mezzo-forte (kinda medium), and fortissimo (as hard as they can hit it.)

If you have the internet connection to take full advantage, get all of them. And look at some of the other instruments while you're there.

There's a nice one at Precisionsound, costs a little penny (not really much though) but it's worth it! Very warm and organic sound! Not a grand piano (swe: flygel) sampled, but a upright piano (swe: vanligt piano Wink).

That's odd, it was working a few days ago when I downloaded all those samples.

Maybe I strained their server. Rolling Eyes Sure hope it gets back online soon, they were great!

If you have a throwaway email address I can send you the samples.

You could have a look at the Trinity Piano (Instrument) in the music section.

Not to be a downer, but.......... I tried that Trinity Piano. Wasn't impressed. EVM Grand Piano was better, if you want to use a VST.

I still have those professional piano samples. The site I got them from seems to be down at the moment (the Iowa college theremin project) so if you'll tell me where and how to send them I'll get them right to ya. I'd suggest you establish a throwaway email address, if you don't have one already.

Triniy piano is good.

It's a bit on the heavy note strike side, but it's worth being in the library.

Seriously don't use trinity. That thing sounds so 90! No layers and every note is like a hard punch in the face. Try and get your hands on that thing Psalms talking about instead. Haven't heard it but it probably does sound better.

It does, oh it does! G3ronimo says he downloaded everything they had. Ask him to send you the piano samples. They're the best things that site had.

EVM grand piano may not be perfect, but it sounds nice enough to impress some people. Try the "pianissimum.sf2" using the SFZ soundfont player in madtracker if you're not satisfied with it.

I used SFZ for awhile, but it loaded ALL of my merlin_gmv.sf2 soundfonts at once. PAAX2 loads only the one you're using at the time. WAY less memory used.
