New tune; "Orange Bassline" - some oldschool acid
Reply with quote

Well, I have released a new tune now. Download it on http://c-frog.madtracker.net, it's called "Orange Bassline" and is the only tune existing on that page, so you can't miss it Smile

Hardware used (except for the PC) for it:
Roland JV-1010
Elektron Sidstation
Freebass FB383
Novation BassStation
Yamaha RX15
Behringer Eurorack MX2004A mixer
Behringer Composer Pro MDX2200 compressor
Pioneer cassette double deck recorder *
Sony Super Metal Master **
Amiga 1200 Wink

* Yeah, I've used a cassette deck to record the premaster to the **Sony tape through my composer compressor, before I did the final master (call me silly Very Happy). It's just to experiment to see if I add more warmth and depth to the mix Smile. Interesting anyhow.. You'll hear some tape distortion and stuff Wink

Hope you like it.

Ps. If you wonder about the lenght of the tune, so is it quite short (about 5 minutes) because I made it just because I wanted to play something on my little radio show which I've done. And I had nothing good, so I did a complete new one instead Very Happy. Ds.

/Daniel

Steinberg Magneto is said to to that job too. Have you tried it, and did you find any significant-nice results with the tape-mastering? I like the idea much! Very Happy

Gonna dl the song now, and will get back to this topic.

Use enough stuff there? Wink

Well, I downloaded and must say, wow. Surprised
I've never heard Acid before, but I can say that I like it very much.
I'm terrible at giving reviews, and I know Inge is gonna give a LONG run-though on it ( Razz ), so, er, yeah...?

I like that wobbly hissed voice at 2:00 too Cool Freaky, but is that Amiga? I didn't think it could sound so evil Razz

Thanx Lollie! Smile..

No, the middle speech is not amiga speech. It's me talking through different effects in logic. The most remarkable is an effect called "ensemble", which is the effect which makes the speech sound like a 70's sci-fi movie Very Happy

The amiga speech is used for the opening speech though, which is "nej oooh", which is an ironic internal "joke" ... The closest translation would actually be "oh no", but that's not fun at all Very Happy

Do NOT try to right click and save file to disk from the pop up menu, cause it'll only save the download page from the madtracker.net-hosting ... If you have problems to download because a player takes over it when playing, I can't help you more than try use some other browser than Explorer, cause it sucks Smile. I have the same problem here! Other programs such as Netscape, Mozilla and Opera pops up a requester if you want to save it or play it in the standard proggie..

When I left clicked on it, instead of seeing a MTHosting download page I saw an empty page with a picture of a ripped quicktime file icon. So I pressed back and right clicked and got it like that.

Silly Internet Explorer, it's gone cuckoo on me Razz

could you post a direct link to the song in this thread? Once quicktime is installed, it always opens an mp3 in a new screen (without giving the opportunity to download it) if the link is based on an image. A text-based link can be downloaded though.

It does! The file 'behind' a text-based link can easily be downloaded with firebird, whereas the file behind an image-based link can't (you can only download the image). Since I installed Quicktime it automatically tries to play them in a browserscreen (anyone knows how to turn that of?), but now I'm just dl'ing Very Happy Try to give both a webbased links as a text-based link in the future.

I just used right click "copy link location" in Firebird (as I always do) on the download-picture, then GetRight gives me a "save as" window, and I could immediately download it. So if you have problems with QuickTime (or other programs) try downloading that way.
About the song: I like many styles, but this one really isn't my cup of tea. It all sounds very well mastered, nice balance, warm sound. About the song itself I can't say very much.
