Hey people, gonna make a song with one sample. Thinking of maybe a sinewave sample. Only problem is ideas: I can't think of a song to make.
Keep rockin'
Alex.

Well, from a sine wave you can make bassdrum, a snare-like thing should be possible by pitching it, I don't think hihats are possible. Ofcourse all kinds of synths en basses are possible with a sine wave.

I remember somebody (i think it was qbical) made a song one day that had only a couple of waves and some white noise. Sounded cool. Anybody remember the song, or still has it?

what is hip?

ive been thinking of making a track just out of kick drums and effects.
definately possible to make a song with very few samples, especially with how flexible vsts are now.

just pick up a single sinus-sound. out of the very deep tone, you can shorten it, and make a drumkit out of it. out of the middle and high tone you can make melodies.

good luck, i´m looking forward to this experiment.

btw: i know somebody, who made it, out of one sound, and it was the windows "BING". Very Happy

I was experimenting with the sinewave earlier today. Made a kick, snare, two basses and some leads with it. Still need a song idea... it's coming...

This is easy as pie! Wink

Use a sound editor, copy some samples onto one sample so they sound after eachother, then use the command 9xx to trigger the one you want Smile

(ok this solution isn't what you're looking for, but it works. I like the unexpected solution...)

Yep. It would technically be ONE sample! (not many samples in one instrument - just ONE)

On another note... (Love that expression):

Much can be done with few samples. My audio configuration tune for madtracker (you have it on your harddrive) is out of 2 samples. It has way different sounds all over. Check it out, maybe you'll catch some tricks.
