How to avoid crackles?

Sorry for my bad english... Embarassed

Is there any way to avoid crackles effectively? Im working on a song and sometimes i get crackles. The strange thing is, the crackles appear at different times everytime i play the song. I suppose, it has something to do with the buffer-size. Are there a recommened buffer-settings for my system?

CPU: AMD 64 3000+
RAM: 1024 MB
Soundcard: Trust SC-5250 5.1 Surround Card

Thanks for you help... Smile
