Need Help copying and Pasting patterns

I know this is simple, my friends showed me but i cant figure it out... I start with say pattern 1,0
then make patter 2,1
or whatever
i copy the pattern i want by starting at the top left and clicking til i get all the patterns i want and right click and copy..Then i go to the top left of the pattern i want to insert the copyed pattern. Right click, and paste...
and it copys maybe a few notes, or nothing at all.. What am i doing wrong?

Also i was wondering how i make a instrument note stop right after it hits..

Thanks alot!
I know im new, im sorry Laughing

Hi Senate,

don't worry: we all started once (even though that is already more than ten years ago for me... Anxious)

Beatmax made an extensive tutorial concerning using MadTracker for new users. You can find it at
http://beatmax.madtracker.net/mt2tutor/eng/index.html

Let us know if you got additional questions. And forget my previous answer about bass compression; you might look at it again in a few months when you're used to the program Angel

the way i copy/paste paterns is press CTRL+F4.... then i move to the next patern and press CTRL+F5

that copies and pastes the WHOLE patern. CAution, there is not an UNDO feature... (none that ive found anyway)

if you want just the track, put the curser on the track you want, and then press SHIFT+F4 move over the the next patern or track and press SHIFT+F5. This will copy and paste ONLY the track the curser is on.

As far as ending a note after it hits, make sure you are in record mode and press CapLock. that sets something that looks like a bar and it ends the note.

hope this helps.
