I guess not quite studio equipment, but just better things to record with. As well as midi controller for my friend for beats.. Could you guys check out the following links? and make any suggestions or comments. Keep in mind that the things need to be that price about, because im on a strict budget.. Please check it out, thanks.

DFX12 12x2 Mixer with EFX

MK249 C 49-Key USB Midi Controller

Sony MDR-V500DJ Headphones

MXL 990 Cardioid Condenser Mic with Shockmount

EPF-15A 6-Inch Flexible Pop Filter

the mic is for vocals btw. Let me know what you guys think, as this is a little investment for me. I dont know much about these kind of things, so all the help is apreciated.

Don't go for a sony dj headphone if you are investing in a studio. Sennheiser and AKG are leaders in monitor headphones, and will give a more flat and thus representative sound.

on top of what Inge said, the Sony DJ headphones are uncomfortable when you wear them a long time, at least according to my experience. Sennheiser or AKG is the way to go also for microphones from what I've heard, but I guess if you're on a budget they might be too expensive (I'd still save up some bucks and get an AKG mic). btw. AKG has a pretty nice product selection guide for their products, helps you select a suitable microphone or whatever you need from their productrange ( www.akg.com )

Mackie mixers are pretty good, not familiar with this model, but the one that's used at my schoolstudio works well and has been doing so for years.

I'm not sure why you'd want to go with a USB midi-controller, but if a midi-controller really is all you need (you don't want a built in hardware synth for instance) then I guess that one would work just fine Think

Does it have midi-output/input also, or is it only USB? no midi connectors on the keyboard might lead to problems later on if you'd want to connect it to some hardware synths or similar. Besides, in the case of this particular keyboard, the fact that it comes with

"Music Teacher, which makes learning to play the keyboard easy and fun...You can even choose which teacher you want - from Mr.Easy through to Mr.Guru!"

and

"MusicPlanet, designed for computer users, young and old, who would love to play and create music but have never known where to begin. "

makes me believe this product isn't quite aimed at the semi-pro or even serious enthusiast level Rolling Eyes

if you only need it for beats then I'd check into the option of drum machines instead Wink

Before you buy an expensive Mackie mixer, checkout budget mixers first, like Behringer and Alto. I'm sure that those extra pennys are not worth it in the end. I have two Behringer Mixers, one Eurorack MX2004A and one Eurorack MX602A, and I'm very pleased with them. They are not noisy as some might say now, if you know what you're doing Smile

@C-Frog

I guess a more expensive and higher quality mixer pays out. I´ve got a cheap one by Conrad Electronic and havent used it that much yet tho the potentiometers are quite noisy now. In german its called "Poti-Krachen" if you know what I mean. Mackie has high quality contacts. But quality has its price Smile As for the headphones I agree with the others AKG or Sennheiser. I am quite pleased with my AKG 240 Studio (75 Ohms) headphones, tho I miss the trebles a bit since they cover your complete ear. Nice bass tho.

Stay tuned....

BMX Smile

Thing is that Behringer has VERY high quality for its low cost. I have never had any problem with my behringer products, I have two mixers and one compressor, and there's no cracks and noises at all. Ofcourse if you maximise all channels over the zero it'll add noise, but that will any mixer do.

I don't know what behringer model you have, but the Behringer Eurorack MX2642A makes this constant noise all the time. Not that big of a deal, but it's enough to make you annoyed.

I have a Behringer MX1604A mixer, and am quite happy with it, because there's almost no noise. Even when the faders are standing quite loud there's low noise.
There are so many people saying "Behringer is cheap, so it's bad", but I think it's great, and definately will be buying Behringer products in the future.

I've not tried that one. I have a Behringer Eurorack MX602A and a Behringer Eurorack MX2004A .. (6 channels and 20 channels). I'm very satisfied Smile... You can buy approx four MX2004A for one Mackie-mixer with the same specs Wink
