Code for "sample-position"

Hey there,
in my first-post I would like to ask
the code to set the play/start-position of a sample...
Maybe some know, as I call it, the "Squarepusher" effect;
Like when you loop a sample and (fastly) slide
the second marker closer to the first.
Gives it a weird effect,

so basicly I'm looking for a code that sets the position of the samp,
or that moves the marker added in the samp...

For now I (real-time) record the effect and add it to the song,
but there must be an easier way?!

Hehe...the squarepusher effect. I do always call retriggering of a sample (r0x in the effect pane) the aphex twin effect Smile

Sample offset can be entered in the effect pane by 09xxyy. Experiment with it. For the effect you (try to) describe, you will need to increase the speed of the pattern (let's say double your lpb), enter the sample you want to 'squarepush' on all lines, and slowly increase the sample offset.

Just to make sure: is the effect you want to achieve the one used in the bridge of the song located at http://home.tiscali.nl/streambb/quinone-dynamite.mp3? The same thing is done there (eventhough I must admit that I've done it in soundforge because I was too lazy to enter all these notes myself Wink)

Hmmz, the effect I hear in "Dynamite" is more like a time-stretch,
not like the effect I mean...
But with a little experimentz I think the "09xxyy" will do!
Only I have to set the BPM to 500, don't know if that will b the clue?!

Bedankt! Wink

Can you place an mp3 online that contains the exact effect you want to achieve? I thought you meant timestretching, but appearantly you want to do something else beyond my comprehension Wink

Laat maar horen Smile

Oh yeah, the squarepusher effect... You don't even know the squarepusher effect Inge? Just try it out, play a looped (forward) sample and move the second closer to the first slowly. The pitch goes highe and higher till the stops.

I've always loved this effect as well Chezzy, but never managed to recreate it in madtracker (or in any program). I think the only way to do this effect in madtracker is to do it manually, record it, and use it as a sample. But I don't think that'll be really accurate. Sad

btw. anyone heard Ultravisitor yet?

what is hip?
