vst presets and envelopes

when I select some preset from a vst plugin and then I want to tweek it a bit the original preset seems to get messed up (it saves the changes I make to it) so how do I copy the preset to a new one before doing any changes?

Another question is related to the envelope thingies some vsts seem to have, they are not in any sort of sync with MT which results in that it sounds different everytime I restart playing which isn't very good thing. I guess there is no way to sync them with MT?

I think it depends a bit on the plugin itself. Actually I don't know how exactly other hosts deal with this case.

You mean LFO's?
Normally the BPM should be in sync (with some glitches sometimes).

Anyway, if you have a problem with a specific plugin, tell me which one and I'll give it a try.

Hmm, me neither Very Happy
How about creating completely new preset or is that plugin's work too?

It's called "Antares Filter". The bpm is alright but the problem is with the plugin's envelope, the envelope keeps running all the time, instead of being started when you start playing the song. Here is the demonstration of the results:

afdemo1.mp3
afdemo2.mp3

I just exported the thing and then I exported the same thing again. Compare them and you should get the idea.

I dunno what LFO is so I can't answer that question.

I'll try to catch you on irc for further details...

It should be handled by the plugin I think, but only when you save it. You mean it updates the preset when you change it? That wouldn't be "normal" plugin behaviour. You could test it in another host if it acts the same or tell the name of this plugin so I can see for myself Smile

LFO = Low Frequency Oscillator = generates low frequencies, like 1 Hz, 5 Hz etc. Wink
