Big Mo:   Bad

This song definately is very catchy. Still it did not really impress me. It is not bad, but nothing special, too.

*What I like in this song*
- The drumprogramming is good.
- Good use of effects.
- Overall quality is very good, it can't be heard vocals are 8 bit.
- The double string melody in the middle of the song works very good.
- The house bass is nice, especially in the end of pattern 20, before the melody kicks in again, giving this 'hollow' sound.
- The sweep with the 'jahjahjah' sample (39) really gives a nice effect to the song for new parts to kick in.

*What I don't like in the song*
- Major flaw of the song: the vocals are two tones too low in pitch. The song is in C#, the vocals in B.
- Overall the track sounds a bit empty, it misses a pad or some chords in the lower mid range.
- Kickdrum is too clean and doesn't have enough subfrequencies, making it disappear in the middle of the song. Using F4 as root note will make it sound a lot better.
- The bassline isn't too good. The distortion makes it simply too loud, also the note on line 33 doesn't work with the song.
- The chord (25) sounds odd and has bad quality, too. Sounds like an old st-xx sample. It shouldn't be pingpong looped.
- In pattern 03 a very short piece of the yeahhey sample kicks in, going on most parts of the song. This really doesn't fit in the song.

The song does have a nice theme, and very good drums, but the vocals really don't match with the song. If you build a song around some vocals (that's what I expected with this one), use the same ground tone for the song.

Keep tracking, I've heard some really good music from you.
