Future Tribe:   Bad

First, the genre description fits very well to this song. Its melody and synths make it a good trance song, but it's pretty short, so it can't really qualify as trance ;)

So, good things:

* excellent quality of instruments. I didn't really look into each instrument and its number of bits, but the whole song sounded clean and even through breakdowns when there weren't many instruments playing.
* very good mixing quality. All instruments were in their own respective frequency areas and nothing sounded out too loud or too quiet.
* many layers of synths that fit together very well. And that's why trance fans should like this tune.

and somewhat bad things:

* it was only around three and a half minutes long, and I personally would have liked to listen a single 10 minute tune once than a 3 minute tune three times. But on the other hand, this song is just as long as it needs to be - it has an intro, a breakdown + buildup, main melody, main melody transposed (very well done btw) and somewhat different ending part.
* and another thing that's not so much bad as it is personal taste - perhaps I would have chosen a different melody. The first two times that I listened to this song, it was a bit difficult to
catch. I mean, these four patterns that the melody is spanned across didn't really feel as whole. But as I listened to it a few more times it felt much better.

So overall I would give this song 8.5 out of 10. It's a very well done track, with its good mixing, quality samples and a good structure. But as I am a trance fan, I would have liked a lengthier tune with a longer intro and perhaps a dreamier melody. Oh, and if this is TNK's own voice featured in the song, then an extra thumb up for that (though it sounded much like Terminator, ha) and be prepared for a small history/astronomy lesson ;)

cheers,
Future Tribe

Some of the better pieces of comercial stuff.

What's good (nearly perfect):

*the intro with it's ambient sounds,
*the introduction into the main part,
*the samps (man, great collection),
*the break and the following build-up,
*and the nearly perfect use of given native mt2-fx.

What's unfortunatly not so good:

*the cannon hit on channel 20, plays too often,
*the length, especially the 2nd break let await some clubbing part - this is definetly missing.

But keep tracking! It's worth listening!
If I had to give you a rate between 1 and 10, I'd give you a clear 8.75.
