Inge:   Bad

Since I have not been able to trace the original version of this song, I'll review Future Tribes 'The Eternal' it as it was an original tune. From what I read in the acompanying text, multiple producers have already remixed this song, so there must be something very catchy about the original tune.

The first thing that strikes is the excellent sound quality. Good, powerfull and clean samples, a bassdrum that does a good job in pushing the song forwards, excellent programmed filters and pannings, and tight drum programming are keywords here. The song structure is decent and constructive, bringing the song from intro to climax, main theme, bridge and again the main theme. The main melody and the atmosphere are properly generated, and variations in the melody are implemented to somewhat surprise the listener from time to time. The end of the tune (6.46) is apart, since it is being used to introduce a fast & furious element to the song. I was surprised from time to time, leaving me with both a pleasant listening experience.

But since I don't get payed by Future Tribe, I will place the finger on the aspects that made this song not 'very good' but 'good'. The most important one is that this song is rather clinical. The song feels rather cold and flat, due to it's tight but conventional programming. The reverbs, filters and drums are all the ones to be expected, and I think there is a lack of 'sparkling' elements to lift this song to a higher level. Since I don't produce trance myself, I won't trick myself into giving very practical advices, but my perception says that this song slumbers too much. The variations in melody can camouflage that effect for a bit, but there's more needed. Vary with your drumsounds (especially the white noise such as hihats), introduce a rather frequency-high sample that is weaved through the main melody, or do something similar less ordinary. I think (but without vst support that is impossible) that an enhancer would also do miracles for this song to un-slumber it (bbe sonic maximiser, izotope ozone or prosoniq dynasone are preferable ones if you choose to master this song).
Another problem (but that is common with Trance) is that this song sounds like many I've heard before, and like many that I will hear in the future. The 'sparkling' element might solve both the slumbering as the conventional characteristic of this song.

Minor detail: at 2.47 the last two bassline-samples should be removed. They really fall out of place, leaving me with a weird taste in my mouth.

Conclusion: good, tight and powerfull trance track, that lacks a certain sparkle and key-identity to really impress me.

Well, I like so much trance style, and I think this one of the best trance mt2 file.

I don't like to go against Inge, but, personally speaking, this song are VERY GOOD on lead sounds, usgin MpReverb, enveloping sounds, echo efects, e.t.c.

The beats are the "sing" of Future tribe, I think they are their own style of drums&beats...

Good work, very good work...
