For some reason I start to think about early 90's house/dance music when listening to this track. I guess this could be called breaks or breakbeat. The track is very drumdependet, not much going on here except drums, a vocal snippet, and a bassline.
I like the drumprogramming in this one really. Like the reversed samples, the funky vibe that's going on here. The drumprogramming is very variating also, well panned and mixed. Guess that's good, since the track depends on the drums. Got my feet moving, so that's good.
I do however feel that the track is a bit empty, even with the cool drums. Some small melody beside the bassline could be good I think. The strings that enter at 2:30 about are a move in the right direction, but they're a bit too low in volume imo, and a bit dry. I'd push the volume up a bit, and add a reverb on them.
But overall, what can I say, it's a funky tune. Again one worth listening to, just for the funky drums.
