This sounds a bit like a chillout version of a trance song, or similar. I like the lead melody (instr 02), also like background pads and melodies. It's a nice song, has a good chillout vibe. Perhaps a bit more brightness in the lead instruments would be good. Except for the percussions, the song sounds a bit muddy as it is now. Brightening up the leads a bit would solve this to some extent. It's good that you stripped it down from 9 minutes, because I don't think it would have worked for that long. The length it is now is very suitable. I'm not too fond of the part before the break (pattern 06 and 07), it doesn't quite fit the song, although it was a good idea to have something different before the break. But perhaps something with just drums playing for instance, or a shorter version of that part, would work better. Just a thought... There's some audible distortion at times, lowering the master a couple of notches solves this. Technically not much wrong with the track, other than that it sounds a bit muddy. Perhaps a bit too trigger happy with the reverb, which probably contributes to the muddines. Try using less of that reverb. There are some instances where track effects could have been routed, to save CPU time. Sample quality is good. Overall a nice 4 minutes of chillout. |
