Wow, that really sucks. Were you low on disk space? If so, madtracker couldn't save the whole file, so some samples (or parts of them) are gone yes. Can't you just reload the samples?

what is hip?

Are you using the fix or the plain RC5?

Is the .bak bigger than 51 KB? I.e. does it look like it could actually contain the samples?

This is something we all should learn from, and it's something that's not limited to MT2. Save often in NEW version files! I know it's easy to say after such tragic accident, but anyway, maybe you learn something from it.. Smile

Hope you can rescue your module.

/Daniel

Did the track contained VSTs?
Maybe you want to send me that 51KB file so that I can see where the crash occured.

Keep a mix log. Wink It'll save your ass when that happens. Same thing happened to me with a remix of an old song of mine that I've been working on.

I don't know but from what you've given asking for a solution is impossable.. what did the error message say? what did you do before saving? what things did you do that you usually dont do?.. cause wow, and error message that only saves notes and not the samples is like super vague.. I have goten this error before but it was because I edited the file with a hex editor and messed something up. Why would I do that, I dont know just wanted to see what It looked like I guess hehe not going to do it again.

The error message said "SAVE ERROR".

I didn't do anything different as normal, i pressed the save button once in a while during producing.

I never had this problem before, it's just so suddenly and unexpected. I realy don't know what happend because a few minutes before the saving just worked.

Im lucky i could recover everything by searching an loading all the samples again, each at a time. It cost me hours to accomplish but it was worth the waiting.

Oh yeah by the way... i didn't use vst or other external programs, juz Madtracker.

Greetz,
Brian NRG
